Summary0008215: Woodcutter Cuts down trees, trees fall on him and beat him unconscious
DescriptionNot fully sure if is a bug, or I don't know how to cut down trees properly anymore. Trees designated for chopping at base, woodcutter walks over and cuts down the tree. The branches and whatnot of the tree then collapse upon him, knocking him out or otherwise injuring him. This happens with every tree, and at less than a month embarked and him having managed to sever an arm via falling trees, he's pretty much as good as dead.
Steps To ReproduceDesignate trees for chopping, watch the dwarf murder himself.

I have never had this problem. By any chance, are designating trees for chopping at ground level, or at some higher level? There are reports on the forums that designating tree-chopping at anything above ground level seems to cause what you saw.

Could 0007789 explain this one? Either that, or your woodcutter has bad agility.

Also, could you post up a save on DFFD and link here?

Edit: or maybe 0007648, which is the one Dame de la Licorne is talking about.

Edit2: How did I end up linking to this report, heh.

I think smjjames meant 0007648, not bug 8215 (which is this report, incidentally).

Please reopen if 0007789 doesn't explain it.
