Summary | 0008230: Animals breeding in Cages
Description | In several of my latest forts, I captured Giraffes, and Elephants in separate worlds. In both of these instances I caught both males and females. While trapped in the cages, these animals are reproducing. So I now have cages with a female Giraffe and a Giraffe Calf. As well, the other world has female Elephants with an Elephant Calf each.
Steps To Reproduce | Set up cage traps, leave the cages where they are when the animal is caught, I have not tested if they are moved.

As I understand it, if a female is pregnant before it is put into the cage it will give birth, but it will not get pregnant again. So not sure it is a bug. |

Yeah, I don't think this is a bug. There was an opposite report in the old bug system: 000364 ▨ (doesn't reproduce) [dwarf mode][pets] caged/chained animals stop breeding That suggests that they're supposed to continue breeding. |
