That probably means either bones or shells. Try producing some of those and see if the dwarf goes for them. |

I had a moody dwarf requesting body parts, it was solved having an animal butchered. So I'm guessing this is not a bug. |

I haven't been able to find any way to satisfy his cravings. I have shells and slaughtered a bunch of animals, but nothing yet. I might not be able to check though, since I think he's stuck on needing some rough gems... I'll see if I can advance him to that point and report back. EDIT: Nope, couldn't find anything in time, so he went berserk and was struck down by the human caravan. |

this could potentially be expected behavior, in 40d it was entirely possible for a dwarf in a mood to demand (and take) materials from the body of a fellow dwarf to complete a project. For this to occur the mood in your fortress had to be a bit grim, but it was a feature. I laughed so hard the first time one of my crafters made a dwarf skin cloak. ;) |

This could probably be anything listed in the 'body parts' category in stocks, which is bones, shells, and ivory/horn. I don't know which subcategory hooves go to though... |

CptFastbreak, which kind of body part did actually get used in that artifact then? Maybe it's a case of a generic string being used for a more specific request. Also, could moody dwarves wanting "rock bars" (0000099) be related? |

Had same issue with BoneCarver. He didn't go for bones, shells, skulls, hair, hooves, horns, rear legs and tails. Then I ran out of ideas |

I had two dwarves asking for body parts, and butchering several donkeys and camels didn't provide what they were looking for. |

I had a dwarf like that, and he was happy with cured leather. |

I've been playing .19 through a dozen moods and not one person has requested anything but bones and leather. Anything biological, I mean. |
