Summary | 0008553: Keys get stuck.
Description | Sometimes when playing I get stuck keys, mainly on the keypad, so for example in adventure mode I can get one of the following errors: 1) Move in one direction only. 2) Move in both directions, jiggering back and forth (two buttons have been stuck). Sometimes even stopping for a second (due to the key repeats balancing each other), before returning to the "non-balanced state" where the keys start jiggering again. This applies to the menu, so it is impossible to exit the game once this happens. However, it usually has most effect when playing adventure mode, at which point I promptly press ESC to avoid the adventurer from moving anywhere.
Steps To Reproduce | Use any key which causes the game to lose focus, such as the ALT key or perhaps even CTRL. I have noticed that CTRL seems to be one of those keys that are very suspect, but I have yet to confirm that the CTRL key is the culprit. I will try to reproduce it and post it as a comment below.
Additional Information | It is mainly the keypad keys that become stuck.

Had this happen multiple times as well in adventure mode, and even one time in fortress mode, when selecting embark location. I had this happen mostly in 34.11, but one time in 40.x, and I don't know how but I fixed it in 34.11. So I don't know of a solution, but I can confirm it. |

And it even hooks up so that it doesn't respond to pressing ESC. It manages to respond to pressing ESC after a while, but only after repeatedly pressing it. Before that, the adventurer moves around uncontrollably. And after ESC has beeen recorded, the menu screen is uncontrollable due to random behaviour (jiggering back and forth and/or scrolling) |
