Summary | 0008582: Dwarf Fortress Crashes on loading Adventure Mode Character Creation
Description | Having temporarily retired my first attempt at a fortress, I wanted to load adventure mode. Unfortunately, as adventure mode was being prepared, the game crashed while transitioning from Timber 2 to Timber 3 at the "Update World" process of character creation. This should be easily reproducible with my save.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Download save at http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=10126 and copy-paste into directory. 2. Select "Start Playing!" menu entry. 3. Select "Adventurer" menu entry. 4. Wait for crash.
Additional Information | Phoebus Texture pack installed. No other mods.

I've run into a worldgen that seems to be having the problem you're describing, except it's a fresh worldgen. Going to look at your save and my save. EDIT: Nvm, it stopped crashing, then I tried running the post-worldgen prep a few more times and no crashes still. Whatever was going on seems to have resolved itself. |

Okay, I've got one where it crashed during the calendar screen while starting up a new adventure mode game, it's already in mid autmn. The crash comes around Sandstone 5th or 6th. http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=10164 There are also a lot of 'succession traveller out of bounds' errors while the calendar is going and the calendar is pretty slow. I've also gotten those errors while playing in the game. Edit: Also, to note, it might not crash because one time it got through all the way for fort mode. Here's the error details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Dwarf Fortress.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 54762923 Fault Module Name: Dwarf Fortress.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 54762923 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 008a9b88 OS Version: 6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 5861 Additional Information 2: 5861822e1919d7c014bbb064c64908b2 Additional Information 3: 84a0 Additional Information 4: 84a09ea102a12ee665c500221db8c9d6 Edit: The problem details from when I tried to start a new fort mode game with this save are a bit different. I checked the OPs save and I'm not seeing the succession traveller errors. I did grab the problem details from the OPs crash, which is identical to the details that I pulled from the crash that is happening when I try to do fort mode from my save. I got another one with a fresh worldgen, but after the first crash, it isn't reproducing. Forgot to copy the problem log, but it looked similar, if not the same, to the first one I posted earlier. |
