Summary0008753: tree canopies stop ground from falling
Descriptionif you try to make a plug for aquifer breaching and it has a tree on top of it that has an intermingling canopy, the land will not fall when completely separated from other ground until the canopy is separated too
Steps To Reproduce1. find trees with intermingling canopies
2. dig a channel as so:

3. mine the ground underneath
4. remove the last piece of ground underneath:

5. floating tree
6. cut the outer tree and now you can see a dwarf get sucked in the hole

This is probably intentional, at least for now. It may be unrealistic but few dozen levels high mountains can also hold on just only one support, so what.
