Summary | 0008788: Artifact can be both moved and stay in bin
Description | I have retired my fortress and spawned an adventurer in it. Then I went to stockpiles to get some better gear. I have found a bin with two artifact gems and various clothes. When I take out one of those artifact gems I put it in my backpack but it is still showed in the inventory of bin. I have found that: - I can take it several times and each time it shows the massage and puts the gem in my backpack. - When I then remove it from backpack and leave it in hand and try to take another one from bin, I end with gem in bin and backpack. - When I try to drop gem on ground nearby I can see it there with [l]ook but it doesn't show any icon there. When I then open bin I see direction to the gem (like "(North)" for 1N and "(NE)" for 1N 2E) and still can take it, ending once again with gem in bin and backpack. - When I try to take out other item (orca leather quiver) form said bin I end with quiver in backpack and no quiver in bin (which is the right behaviour).
Steps To Reproduce | Retire fortress with artifact (gem?) stored in bin Visit that fort as an adventurer Try to take that artifact out of bin
Additional Information | Save and world generated in 40.20, save moved to 40.21, then 40.23, then 40.24. No mods. There is currently goblin siege in the fort so it is really laggy (few times I got even 1 FPS and 1 graphical FPS), be warned. Adventurer is standing on the tile of said larch bin. In case you get lost, from mainentrance turn right before hospital, go through far doors on your left, before food stockpiles turn right and down on ramp, through another doors, turn left to stone stockpile, turn right to mechanisms stockpile and it is the leftmost bin in the second row from below, near the south end of this hall, 2E from large granite pot. Said artifact gems are Anilmeden, perfect kunzite, and Gemsiteshom Lushut Zalis, perfect yellow spessartine.

Save: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=10551 I am now going to try to find other-then-gem artifacts, see how they behave and then try to leave this fort site with them in my backpack. Edit: Found earring, ring and amulet, all of them still show in their original bins even when I am having them in my backpack/hand/wearing them. Taking them out from bin once more gives me them both in bin and backpack, I do no wear them any more. |

I have now found this is basically a duplicate of 0001179. I am now wondering how I have managed to not see that old report while I was searching for "adventur artifact" @_@ |
|
All right, thanks. Regarding the search feature, the problem could be that the title of that report only contains "Adv." (although the steps to reproduce do contain "adventurer", so I'm not entirely sure if that's the problem). Make sure you're clearing/resetting the filter before each search. Alternatively, Google's "site" operator takes paths as well - including "site:bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt" in a Google search can be helpful. |
