Summary | 0008825: Aquatic vermin on land
Description | Mussels and clams have been spawning near my turkeys, in place of worms and other bugs which i would usually see. I haven't tried trapping the vermin yet, but they visibly appear and disappear as normal vermin would.
Steps To Reproduce | group a number of turkeys together and wait for the vermin
Additional Information | It shouldn't matter, but I am embarked at an arctic ocean, and my game is unmodified besides an adjustment to the melting of fat.

I have also observed mussels and oysters (I think, two different kinds of shelled aquatic vermin, anyway) inside my fortress when on an ocean embark. It might not be related, but I've just seen salmon in my dwarven footbath (2/7 depth) 5 tiles away from a stream, as well as some other fish (trout?) in the puddle of water (1/7) formed under a double-slit aquifer puncture. This site was within 10 tiles of the stream. |

This is because mussels and oysters have the [VERMIN_SOIL] tag in their raws, located in "creature_small_ocean". This also causes that both creatures are unfishable in oceans. To fix all of this just remove the tag. |
