Summary | 0008862: Crash on Undead Siege. Not immediate | ||||
Description | Once I get the "The dead walk, hide while you still can" message and enter the Siege, the game can continue normally. Using "z" to zoom into the undead walking into the map crashes it. Pressing "k" while they're in the map crashes it aswell. I then tried to simply not do either of those, but the game will crash as soon as the undead are in my screen | ||||

Additional Information | Using Phoebus graphics pack that came with LazyNewb Pack DDD (Deeper Dwarven Domestication) Mod: replaces domestic creatures More Ores, Metals and Stone mod: adds new types of ore metal and increases the types of stone Spellcraft: Adds a magic system. I have an undead siege in vanilla 40.24 and can look at them so this is not a problem of all such sieges. I guess there is some unit in your siege that game is not sure how to show. Maybe it is just Phoebus pack missing some tiles. *reads linked thread* What type of units are you getting in your siege? Undead elves too, as in that linked reddit thread? And are you sure you don't have any constructions on tree parts? Have you tried other graphic settings or to exterminate those siegers via dfhack, as suggested in that thread (note though there is nowhere mentioned their version of DF)? Do you have anything interesting in last lines of your errorlog.txt? If you have a save which can reliably show this crashing (so siege comes soon or has just started) please upload you zipped save folder to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ and post a link to it here. |

There is an Elf Lasher on screen when it crashes, but I can't confirm it is him as he's never really alone Still haven't tried changing tileset or exterminating them. Will do so Here is the save. It is seconds before the siege http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=10700 |

Same problem dwarf necromancers and goblin/dwarf undead, switching graphic tilesets to default ascii doesnt help. No mods, just lznp. Zooming or viewing instantly crashes. |

I have a save from v42.06 that seems to exhibit this bug regularly. The save is right before spring of the 5th year. Just after the season changes undead invade, so far on 30 consecutive loads. About 10-20% of the time a crash will occur instead in the same time frame as the undead invasion regularly appears.
