| Description | "The live rat has chewed loose of its confinement" keeps showing up every couple of minutes and it pauses the game every single time. | ||||

| Additional Information | Wasn't happening till last night; this isn't too new a fortress, I've had it for a couple of years. I did look in the forums and found that someone suggested actually going into the init. file and changing some things around, but I don't want to mess with stuff in there if I don't need to. | ||||

Is http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=142634 that forum thread you are talking about? According to that this message should be generated for vermin escaping from trappers' traps. Do you see each message is generated by new escape? If so, I think there is no bug here and this can be closed as Expected/Intended. If you think game should react in other way, there is Suggestion board on forum (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?board=5.0). If you want to change this behaviour just for you, follow the ideas in that thread you found. If this above does not suffice you, please upload your save (zipped region folder) that reproduces the problem to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ , post a link to it here and write here where you see the problem. The announcement init files are there exactly for this purpose - to change any announcements to act as you see fit. |
