| Additional Information | I can't seem to play DF 2014. Crashes often leading me to save more frequently, however even saving crashes and corrupts the game. I did not have any issues on 34.11. As a side note and perhaps important is that Im using Lazy Newb Pack, so I suppose dfhack or something could be causing issues. | ||||

If DF crashed while saving, there really isn't much that can be done with a corrupted save. Does this crash only occur in a particular world? I recommend either enabling backups in init.txt or backing up saves manually. DFHack's "quicksave" command can make saving often much easier. |

I've only tried playing one world, took me awhile to locate one I kinda liked. The crashes are a major turn off, I don't mind it crashing when Im making a new world, but random crashes during play and corrupted saves really sucks and the reason I haven't tried the new DF until now. Though I understand it can be very time consuming to fix bugs. I might try to hunt down a fun world that actually works. I do have a working save of the very beginning. DF has crashed on me 3 times building the fort and I hadn't even hit 1 year yet. |

An earlier save of the same world would certainly be helpful. We prefer that saves are uploaded to http://dffd.bay12games.com/, since files on other hosts tend to disappear more easily. (These sorts of crashes are typically world-specific, and are less common in more recent versions, so it's most helpful to have a save where they can be reproduced by Toady.) |

Building on tree parts (0008719) seems to be most often the cause of ingame crashes for 0.40.24 games. |

True, but this is a crash on load (or due to save corruption). dhy: If you have an earlier save of the same world, please upload it to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ and link to it here. Otherwise, there isn't much that can be done with a corrupted save - Toady can verify that it's corrupted, but can't easily fix it or determine the cause. |

Here it is: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=10738 I tried making a new fort in attempt to reproduce a crash to save time for others to reproduce. There was one crash on save, but it was pretty early and my first save, after that I couldn't get it to crash again going well into the second year and after many saves. If I remember correctly the crash that corrupted my game had my first caravan on the map. Evidently my civ isn't doing too well either with only around 150 dwarves total and there's 3-4 Rocs nearby them. Toady should release a version with debugging symbols so we can atleast provide stack traces and stuff to help and maybe save time. |
