Summary0008988: Dwarf paralyzed at the neck still moving around
DescriptionI have a dwarf vampire who received a broken neck in a beating. The good news is, now that she can only move her head I don't have to worry about any more bloodsucking. The weird news is, she's still rolling around, albeit at half the speed of her comrades, constantly going up and down the main staircase between the front hall and the dining hall. Down the stairs I can almost understand; up is a little harder to believe. She can't eat or drink or sleep, she just goes back and forth between the designated meeting areas.
Steps To ReproduceHave a dwarf break their upper spine yet survive. Once they're discharged from the hospital, watch them, I dunno, inch themselves forward with their chin? They may need to be a vampire for this to work.
Additional InformationNot sure if the fact that she's a vampire has anything to do with how she's still alive - the health panel seems permanently set at "Tired, Cannot Breathe, Ability to stand lost, Ability to grasp lost". I thought for sure she wouldn't make it given that, you know, cannot breathe.

I think this happens to every creature that suffers a similar injury. Motor control by design isn't necessary for movement, per se—it's only necessary for standing and for movement at normal speeds.

Of course, vampires don't need to breathe, so paralysis of the diaphragm from upper spine damage won't kill them via suffocation.

I don't doubt it. It's just a very unlikely, disturbing mental image of an extremely dehydrated vampire dragging herself around by her chin.
