Summary | 0008995: Pressure plates vanishing after being built
Description | Seems like the second pressure plate I build vanishes. I'm trying to build a bathtub, and I want a pressure plate that triggers for water 0-3 and a pressure plate that triggers for water 5-7. The first pressure plate is created and has a light purple icon in the basic character map, and seems to be completely OK. When the second pressure plate is built, it has a dark purple icon, then after a minute or two after building, vanishes completely. After vanishing, it cannot be selected with 'k', 't', or 'q'. The plate-trap vanishes before I can connect it to anything. The newly-built plate-trap erases mud on the smoothed stone.
Steps To Reproduce | Build a pressure plate for water 0-3, connect to bridge (instead of floodgate), build a second pressure plate for water 5-7, a few squares away (y-axis).
Additional Information | pop cap 100. high mineral frequency. z-level -1, in a 160+ level embark. untamed wilds. Chose marble for components, other marble components fine. Components don't seem to matter. Can build levers afterwards. Can build bridges afterwards. Can build pressure plates for creatures. Maybe related to zero water? Other pressure plates I've built start out 'dark purple', then turn 'light purple'. The one that vanishes starts dark, then vanishes.

Are you sure there aren't any dwarves throwing tantrums or hidden building destroyers? Can you upload a save to http://dffd.bay12games.com/? (Also, DF doesn't use "r" in version numbers.) |
|
(sorry, version number must have been DFHack's version number, my bad) Possible reason: One shot pressure plate, installed for triggering on zero water. Well, it had zero water, so it triggered and vanished. Maybe? No tantrums. Pretty sure there's no hidden building destroyers. I'll look into uploading a decent save. |
|
Yeah, a one-shot pressure plate would explain it. Was that intentional on your part? |
