Summary | 0009054: Jobs don't locate free dwarf to perform them
Description | Majorly irritating more than major i guess. 40.24 save game with clothier (z -1) and metalsmith (z -2) jobs not finding free dwarves. Also one dig designation on z -13 not being performed. Links to 0008731 on bug tracker but applies to jobs manually assigned to workshop and Auto jobs as well as DFhack plugin repeat assigned ones. Not in this save but previously one or both Looms stopped, deleting job cures the block. i.e. this happens to these types of job, manually added, DFhack plugin added, vanilla Auto added. Haven't tried manager added jobs. Yes, I made sure I had free dwarves, with job enabled, able to access workshop and materials. Also there's a pen/pasture stray alpaca job that never gets done. Save at http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11089
Steps To Reproduce | For repeatability, leave the game running and one or more jobs will stop some workshop from working because top job doesn't locate a worker (I think 2 game months is my longest record so far).
Additional Information | Not related to the above bug but check out Fikod Berlikot, Weaver and his hauling job. That's a lot bolts to carry around, even odder than the old haul the bin way ;). And also, have run the game past this point twice, the mountain home traders arrive and i do a trade with them. First time the traders hauling animals get spooked (blue !, no idea of a cause for it) and the traders with one animal dump all their goods and all traders leave separately to their animals, wagons take away their goods as is normal. Second run through no panic and no trader dumped items they just pack up and go with no announcement about 30 seconds after trade window closed, heading off in 3 different directions.

This looks like a duplicate of 0008731 to me. Hand-assigned jobs get carried out normally, only the DFHacked ones seem to end up in limbo. I assigned "make cloth shoes/socks" and other labours on repeat and the jobs didn't stop regenerating. The neglected mining job is just an effect of priorities - it's assigned at level five, while some "dig out mineral vein" jobs are active at level four. Once the veins were mined out, the single tile got dug. I've no idea what happened to the caravan, maybe they got spooked by carcasses in the butcher's shop or the refuse stockpile - both are within twenty tiles of the depot. I've checked the save in an unmodded installation, i.e. no DFHack or therapist; once the stuck auto-assigned jobs (autolabor/workflow?) are removed and replaced by normal jobs, everything appears to work just fine. |

Check with the mod/utility authors in the future. If this can be reproduced in vanilla DF, PM on the forums. |
