Descriptionsdl_ttf is not mentioned as a required library in README.linux. Running the executable without it results in the following message:

./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Those aren't really related because the issue here is that Linux users have to install libraries themselves.
