Summary | 0009269: Book being read prevents it from being used for jobs
Description | A quire that is being read by a dwarf or a visitor cannot be bound. Possible quick-ish fix: prevent unbound quires from being read (possibly as a standing order) Additionally, any book being read cannot be copied, so scribes will only copy a book if they are looking for a job during the brief moment when a book is put back on the bookcase.

I understand the behavior, and I would say it's arguably not a bug - more a quirk of how things work together. On the other hand, it [is] annoying, as it makes it highly difficult to do anything with your books. Perhaps as a possible fix, visitors could be made to cancel reading if a citizen needs to do something with the book. But then, that would probably only introduce more bugs in the end. |
