Summary | 0009451: Carp give live birth to carp fry
Description | I'm reasonably certain that fish are supposed to lay eggs. As of 42.04, carp have gained a new reputation to replace their ancient moniker of dwarf-killer: Their reproductive systems carry carp fries to full term rather than produce carp eggs when they should.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Settle by a river with a carp population. 2. Cue "Carp has given birth to a carp fry!" 3. (Optional) Send a fisherdwarf to the river to record carp mating behavior for !!science!!.

I've noticed this with other kinds of fish, though I assumed it was simply a workaround for marine creatures' breeding. That said, some fish do give live birth, in real life. I don't think carp are among them, however. |

Just saw the alert "Carp has given birth to a carp fry!" and it confused the carp out of me. Pretty sure carp are not ovoviviparous. |
