| Description | Downloaded and ran Dwarf Fortress on an intel mac through boot camp. In general game worked fine- was able to generate a world, embark with the default profile, and mine down until I hit HFS. The problem was that several keys weren't recognized from the mac computer- in particular, + and -, making so I couldn't scroll through several menus. For instance, I could activate mining in dwarves, but no other professions, and a handful of other things were needed as well. | ||||

... You can just rebind the keys using the ESC menu options! Essentially some keyboards have non-standard identifications for keys. For example, Dwarf Fort looks for - and + keys. However, on my laptop, - is actually labelled as "MINUS", so Dwarf Fortress just goes "?????" when I press it, until I rebind the keys. ... unless you think Dwarf Fortress should automatically identify your keyboard? |

Alright, thanks, I didn't notice that. It wasn't a very rare sort of keyboard, so it seems like eventually DF should work with it by default, but that's spit-and-polish stuff for the Mac release. Guess this is resolved? |
