There are at least two animals trying to path through pet-locked doors/hatches (0000797) - a calf just north of your temple, and a giant bat way down the shaft. Does getting rid of the pet-locking and/or the animals improve your FPS?

I can try that out. It's weird because I don't think I changed the state of the hatches when the FPS drop occured. This actually isn't my fort but one that I was investigating for someone when the issue appeared.

Okay, so switching the hatches to "pet passable" brought the FPS to normal. It's surprising that it really crushed the framerate like that. There must have been some animal that wasn't pathing and then happened to decide to go somewhere.

Thanks for your help! Maybe this save will help in some way, if this issue still needs investigating.

Thanks for the update. I'll mark this as a duplicate, then, and post the link in the other issue.
