Instruments are also missing, as are quires and probably slurry. Is this really a 0.42.06 fortress, rather than a 0.40.X one upgraded to 0.42.06? |

In that case it's to be expected and you're out of luck. Instruments (and poetry, etc) are generated during world gen, which happened in an old version where such things did not exists. Poetry can be generated during the continued world progress, but instruments are tied down at that time and no new ones are generated. Workshop reactions are pulled from the environment during world gen and stored in the save. Presumably it should be possible to retrofit an existing save with added reactions by locating and modifying the corresponding files, but you're as likely to get a crash as things working (probably more likely to get a crash, actually). Your sane options are to continue your game using 0.40.24 (assuming you still have that save: moving the current save back will most likely result in a crash), use 0.42.06 as is, with missing stuff, or to start a new world with 0.42.X. |

Ah, shoot. I was hoping there'd be a way to fix it. Guess it's time for a new fort. |
