| Description | In order to encourage my mason to use particular materials in his fey mood, I forbade all the metal bars except for platinum. He dutifully fetched the platinum bar and started working furiously. Thinking that he was all set, I went and re-allowed all metal bars, but in the process accidentally forbade platinum bars briefly, and so went back and allowed them again. Straight away, another dwarf marched into the mason's workshop, grabbed the platinum bars, and returned them to the stockpile. When the artifact was completed, it looked like a normal artifact that had never wanted platinum bars at all. | ||||

Not a bug: forbidding a material cancels any job associated with that material, even strange moods. After you forbade the material and cleared the mood job the material was no longer considered part of the artifact (and, therefore, free for hauling to a stockpile), and moody dwarves who have begun construction will not gather any replacement materials, even if you forbid them all at that point. |

Normally if you forbid an item the job is cancelled, but artifact construction jobs aren't. Now I'm tempted to see what happens if I pull all the items out from under an artifact maker's hammer... |
