| Description | Wild animals in v0.42 versions deal suprisingly light damage, even the huge predators. A dwarf usually survives encounter with such a large beast as jabberer, suffering bruises only, not like it was in older versions where the fellow was torn into shreds within a few seconds. "The jabberer snatches at the weaver in the left lower leg, bruising the muscle!" This only applies to wildlife. Battles with other creatures are lethal as usual. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. Breach into the caverns 2. Make one of the civilian dwarves (e.g. woodcutter chopping underground trees) encounter a large predatory animal. 3. Notice that the attacks of a ferocious predator cause only bruises. | ||||

I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed yet. I think the problem is the hardness of teeth as a material. Claws too. Basically they're too soft to penetrate even skin or cloth at the moment. Really it should be just a raw edit to correct that. |

I think it was something with levels of conflict, I saw few predators incorrectly put into brawl mode while I was playing as adventurer in v0.42.06. It was a bug that dwarves used punches in battle even if they had weapons, and wild animals dealt very light damage using all attacks. It appears to have been fixed before the v0.43.03 release, I've played v0.43.03 and the battles against wildlife are brutal enough to end in the death of a dwarf. |
