Summary | 0010378: Embarked in a tree
Description | After my last fortress fell to necromancers, I decided to start a new one. For an interesting embark, I chose a nice freshwater lake next to a heavily forested area. Much to my surprise, after embark, all of my dwarves and animals appeared in a tree at the edge of the map! No wagon was spawned, but all my supplies appear to be scattered around the embark area. (In the tree.)
Steps To Reproduce | This may be related to the fact that most of my embark area covers the lake. The center in particular is above the lake.

I'm not sure exactly what provoked it, but eventually the dwarves did climb out of the tree one by one, and I was able to chop down a nearby tree for wood, then build some stairs into the "embark tree". So really all it cost me was time, but it was quite unusual. |
