Summary0010857: Crashes on embark after creating 2nd fort on the same map
DescriptionThis is pretty strange. When I create a new world, I can start a new fort in that fresh world just fine. But if I abandon or retire the first fort and try to make a second fort on the same world, it crashes on embark. I have to make a new world for every fort.
Steps To Reproduce1. Create world (settings don't matter)
2. Make fort
3. Retire/abandon fort
4. Make new fort on the same map
5. Crash on embark
Additional InformationI'm using the Lazy Newb Pack. This issue started only about 3-4 days ago. Previously everything worked fine. However, vanilla Dwarf Fortress seems to work fine.

Okay, the conditions for the crash are different than I thought. The bigger the world, the more likely it is to crash. The longer I spend time in the embark screen, the more likely it is to crash. It can still crash in small worlds, though.

I guess the current workaround I can think of is to just keep trying to embark until it works.

Here's the region file that's been frequently crashing for me.

I was able to embark successfully three times using the provided save in vanilla v0.44.12. Does the crash only occur when using LNP? When you say "The longer I spend time in the embark screen", which screen are you referring to? Which screen does the crash occur on?

Crashes after pressing a button on the "Strike the earth!" text screen. Freezes for a split second and then just closes.

Just tried the save in vanilla. Everything seems to work fine. So it's definitely LNP causing the issue.

Maybe something to do with settings? I have changed only a few things in LNP: Aquifers OFF, intro movie OFF, enhanced gameplay ON, hide DFHack console ON.

This tracker is for vanilla Dwarf Fortress bugs. Problems with mods (including LNP) should be reported to the mods' maintainers.
