Summary0001547: Cave-ins can leave hanging down ramps in air
DescriptionCollapsing a caved-out section of surface can leave the down-ramps corresponding to the up-ramps that are collapsed away, hanging in the air.
Steps To Reproduce* Channel out top section to leave a few random ramps scattered (perhaps optional)
* Dig out area beneath these ramps
* Build a support in the dug area, link it to a lever
* Channel away remaining support around ceiling of dug out area
* Pull lever to cause cavein.
* Behold down ramps hanging in the air.

Also, if you have a pond with sloping edges before the collapse, the pond will have 'sharp' edges (no ramps) after the collapse.

[EDIT] Oh, and it appears that they can spontaneously 'cave in' long after they are first formed. Possibly when a flying creature passes through one of their tiles? It is obviously hard to confirm this, but there was a swan in the general area when a cave in triggered on the surface and there is one less floating 'down ramp'.

[EDITx2] Yep, another just collapsed and there is swan blood at the scene and an injured swan nearby seems pretty clear.

Here's a new one. It appears possible that saplings can grow on the floating down-ramps because I have a tree that starts in mid-air.

Still present in DF 0.40.19

Note that the visible floating down-ramps can be removed by building a floor over them then removing the floor. I don't yet know if that completely removes all traces of them.
