Summary0001934: Brook flashes like warm stone and can be desinated to be dug
DescriptionThis is a brook next to my fortress. In these two screenshots you can see that the brook is flashing unnaturally like warm stone and I can designate it to be dug as seen at the bottom of the image.

Those screenshots were helpful for clarifying the situation, but you might have to upload a save as well for Toady to get anywhere with this one. http://dffd.wimbli.com/

There it is.

I might just add that this didn't seem to cause any other ill effects, but I'll keep playing to see if it appears to do anything weird, perhaps with fishing or drinking or anything.

Designating the brook to be dug isn't that odd - I guess it's like having to "deepen" a shallow river before you can make it a proper one.

The warm stone stuff is definitely weird. Do you have any natural volcanos on your map?

I'm curious if you can get a dwarf to melt by dropping them in that water.

Yea I was wondering if the water was perhaps very hot, or something. ;p

So on reloading the save today, I noticed that the brook is no longer flashing like it was yesterday, though it still can be designated, so I guess that has nothing to do with it.

No natural volcanoes, magma is 25 storeys down and I wasn't able to see any magma adjacent to it.

So I have no idea now :/
