Summary0002834: Human traders never show up, despite very obvious access
DescriptionBy "very obvious", I mean my fort is literally built on one of their highways.

I rechecked my location to confirm. The "Civilization" screen on embark show Humans, and I'm literally a single square away from one of their cities, while the fort itself is sitting on a human road. We are not at war.

Three summers have gone by without any humans. They do not show up on the in-game Civ list.

If you abandon the fortress and then re-embark there (or right next to it), do humans still show up as neighbors?

Yeah. When I didn't see any humans I figured I was crazy and cloned my save so I could abandon and check out the map again. But they show up as neighbors, and we're not at war. I'm not kidding when I said that one of their cities is a sqaure away from my own

Weird... maybe you're too close or something. See what happens if you embark a little further away.

Humans showed up for the first time in 1054, the 17th of late summer. Their diplomat was a Thresher.

Not sure what happened. Hmm! Ayways, also not sure if you'd consider this fixed or not, but I think whatever is causing diplomat oddities is what caused this.

Er, wait, now the guy is claiming to be my liason from the mountainhomes. Oh jeeze...

I assume this means that the human settlement has been conquered by dwarves or some such.

Since the report was that the human traders never show up, and they eventually did, I'm closing this report. If there is something else at work here, please file a different report.

Also note that a civ will not show up on your in-game civ list until your fort has made contact with them.
