Summary | 0002834: Human traders never show up, despite very obvious access
Description | By "very obvious", I mean my fort is literally built on one of their highways. I rechecked my location to confirm. The "Civilization" screen on embark show Humans, and I'm literally a single square away from one of their cities, while the fort itself is sitting on a human road. We are not at war. Three summers have gone by without any humans. They do not show up on the in-game Civ list.

If you abandon the fortress and then re-embark there (or right next to it), do humans still show up as neighbors? |
Yeah. When I didn't see any humans I figured I was crazy and cloned my save so I could abandon and check out the map again. But they show up as neighbors, and we're not at war. I'm not kidding when I said that one of their cities is a sqaure away from my own |
Weird... maybe you're too close or something. See what happens if you embark a little further away. |
Humans showed up for the first time in 1054, the 17th of late summer. Their diplomat was a Thresher. Not sure what happened. Hmm! Ayways, also not sure if you'd consider this fixed or not, but I think whatever is causing diplomat oddities is what caused this. Er, wait, now the guy is claiming to be my liason from the mountainhomes. Oh jeeze... http://i32.tinypic.com/50mn13.png |
That's 0002831. |
I assume this means that the human settlement has been conquered by dwarves or some such. |
Since the report was that the human traders never show up, and they eventually did, I'm closing this report. If there is something else at work here, please file a different report. Also note that a civ will not show up on your in-game civ list until your fort has made contact with them. |
