Summary | 0003935: Can build floor tile directly over wall (tile), but tricky later to remove that (completed constructed) floor tile.
Description | Constructing a -floor- tile on top of a constructed -wall- tile will not let you remove the -floor- tile without first removing the wall tile below. Also I don't know what happens when the block extracted from the deconstructed floor tile falls on top of the deconstructed wall's extracted block (if it doesn't get removed before floor tile de-construction is finished.
Steps To Reproduce | If you [b]uild-[C]-[w]all on lower level and then directly build-C-floor tile one z-level above that, directly on top of wall tile, then if you later want to [d]esignate-remove floor co[n]struction (tile), say to put another wall on top of the lower wall, you wave to first remove the wall tile below, then the floor tile above, then rebuild the wall below.

Oh, they remove such floor... sometimes... or eventually? But mostly just stand right next to it and look dejected, or something. This seems to be a problem with any constructed floor, whether on a wall or hanging. I suspect it depends on the dwarf. Two dwarves without Masonry/Hauling/Architecture experience or labour enabled, and not hungry or something took very different to remove floor-over-wall. And a novice Mason did it 2x faster. Or maybe it was for some other reason - who knows? Needs more testing. |

v0.43.05x32: I encountered no problems removing a floor tile built directly above a wall tile. I did note that dwarves would temporarily stop removal if another dwarf was standing on the tile, but I think that's a reasonable safety check for general floor removal. |
