Summary0005036: Save file gets corrupted, doesn't show up in list
DescriptionI was playing Dwarf Fortress normally (in fortress mode) and then saved the game. When i got to the menu screen I just shut down the computer. Next time I ran DF my save wouldn't appear in the saved games screen (actually i couldn't get there because it didn't see the game). I did some testing and made another world/fortress. I could see this game in the saved games area but I couldn't see my old file. I looked at the world.SAV of both these games in a text viewer (I know it would just look like a jumbled mess) but in the corrupted game file it was void of all text. The corrupted world.SAV is still 10,618kb.
Steps To Reproduce1. Run dwarf fortress
2. Play an existing save
3. Save game
4. Shut down computer while DF is in menu screen. (Finished saving)
Additional InformationDon't have a way of viewing the SAV file in a readable way so no idea what it would look like then. Anyone have a program for that? or even better, an un-corrupter?

I attempted to open it with dfWorldTinker but I got the error:
"Could not read world name"

Are you on 64bit system with compressed saves enabled?

Does it not show the region in either the "Start Playing" or "Continue Playing" screens?

Compressed saves is enabled, I read about that a few moments ago so i disabled it.
The world does not show at all in any screen,start playing and continue playing included.

I believe it is the world.SAV file that is corrupted

EDIT: I would like to save the world in any form possible, even if i have to abandom the fortress itself...

I would think this one is different than report 2017 because i cant even see my save in the loading screen.

Please edit existing notes instead of posting multiple notes in a row.

Your report is appreciated, but corrupted saves are not recoverable.

My guess is that your problem is the same as 0002017, and that the save may disappear entirely depending on what files get corrupted.

 The save on DFFD is gone, but the Mediafire save is not compressed.

However, that save is unrepairable - world.sav consists of 10872032 bytes, all of which are 0x00.
