Summary0005245: The smaller the creature, the more easily it bleeds to death from dismemberment, burns, etc.
DescriptionI've suspected since 0.31.01, but I finally got around to testing it. Lower size = more prone to bleeding to death from a given type of injury.
Steps To ReproduceDismemberment:
- create a sword-wielding bronze colossus in the arena
- create a couple bobcats, slash off a leg from each, watch them bleed to death almost instantly
- create a couple cows, slash off a leg from each, watch them get pale but remain alive

Melting:
- create a dragon in the arena
- torch a crowd of dingos, watch as they all quickly bleed to death
- torch a crowd of elephants, watch as they die of melting instead

This still happens as of 0.40.xx . One could say its intended, since the creatures have little blood, but they should bleed less too. A rabbit losing a leg and a cow losing a leg is roughly the same wound, and if it doens't bleed one of them to death, it shouldn't bleed the other.
Maybe the reason is that bleeding causes absolute damage over time, instead of percentage damage. As bleeding is the closer of hit points e have in DF, and smaller creatures=less blood=less hit points, this absolute damage caused by bleeding kills them faster.
