Summary0005532: dwarf punches criminal instead of using a weapon
Descriptioni caught a vampire,i set him for my military to punish him,every one of my dwarves had weapons,but they kept punching the vampire instead of killing him with his weapons..
Steps To Reproduce1.Find a vampire.
2.Try to punish him with a military dwarf
3.Watch as he punishes the vampire by punching him instead of using his weapon

What did you do, order your military to attack the vampire? If so, I'm surprised anything happened at all (and that it didn't result in a loyalty cascade)...

The proper way to punish a vampire is to accuse it of a crime and then let the Justice system take care of it, ideally with a large quantity of hammerstrikes.

i didin't have a hammerer,i tried to punish him throught the justice system,my recruits with weapons kept punching him, the same thing appears to apply when troops start throwing a tantrum,they attack people with their fists,ignoring that they have weapons.

 This is the "beating" sentence, and that's how it's supposed to work. The only one which is supposed to use a weapon is the "hammerstrikes" sentence delivered by the hammerer. For that to happen, the hammerer needs to be appointed, not be the guard captain or in the military, there has to be an available war hammer, and you need to have a chain built as a restraint and set as a jail.
