Summary0008650: Raw Adamantine found in the third caverna layer
DescriptionI was surprised when I disceovered raw adamantine well above the magma sea (at least 12 levels) in the thid caverna layer. I think it was supposed to be in contact only with the magma sea?

 Normal, they can extend pretty far up. I've had one go up a few z levels into the third cavern.

If it is normal so I think it is not a bug. But 12z levels is a bit too much, there were tons of adamantine until it reached the magma sea.

I thought this was more or less the intended behaviour. It does get a bit weird in abnormally tall cavern layers (like, more than fifty blocks high), where you can get completely absurd amounts of adamantine without even digging the inner tiles where there might be demons.

Not a bug. The spire definitions allow them to reach the 1:st caverns (can be achieve via DFHack, but I've never seen it happen naturally). I've seen spires reach the second cavern very occasionally.
