Summary | 0008689: Certain types of tile designations can't overwrite others or have their priority changed.
Description | Once some area is designated for [d]-[F] Carve Fortifications, it's job priority (edit: or designation type) can't be changed. On the other hand, job priority of, say, Mine or Channel can be changed with another designation over the given area. Tried with several sections of granite walls. May be a problem of other designations too, I haven't checked all of them yet.
Steps To Reproduce | Build stone walls Designate part of the wall for carving of fortifications (some random part) Change job priority Designate part of the wall for carving of fortifications (fully/partially over the already designated area) Note the first area still keeps its old job priority (or at least it shows so)
Additional Information | Save and world generated in 40.20, save moved to 40.21, then 40.23. No mods. Affected designations: * Smooth stone * Carve fortifications

I had similar issue with Smooth Stone designation. An area of priority 1 designation couldn't be changed to priority 2 designation by just designating again. I had to remove the designation first. In another case changing the designation priority worked fine, so it seems to not always reproduce. |

From testing in 0008706, it seems that these types of designations can't be changed to other types either. Edit: Actually, the problem is that these types can't overwrite other types (or different priorities of the same type of designation) - "smooth stone" can be changed to "dig", but not vice versa. |
